Meet Luka Inyasio Ongera

Luka and his wife, Magdaline Ijok have one biological child and seven adopted orphan children. In addition to his role as the South Sudan National Facilitator, Luka is a pastor. Luka first heard about the Romans Project from Ken Onywoki when he was a student in Nairobi, Kenya in 2015. He became the National Facilitator for South Sudan in 2017.

Luka describes his service for the RP as “lively,” giving him great desire to read God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit that keeps him growing. Many that he has seen become involved in the RP are rejoicing and testifying how God is strengthening them through His Word.

RP has enabled Luka and others to make studying God’s Word a lifestyle. Sermons are no longer simply found online, but are personally prepared. The RP has been able to reach into villages in South Sudan that are much more vulnerable to being misled spiritually, with twelve churches having been planted.

What pastors are saying…

I thank God with a sincere heart for bringing us the Romans Program. Our place was isolated with no missionaries and no encouragement for untrained church leaders like us. It is the first time in my life to go through the book of the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse, reading it 20 times and writing it down. I was touched by God immediately with the message of Romans 12. I realize that most of my preaching previously was not well prepared and mostly full of different messages. May the Romans Program continue to elevate us spiritually for spiritual transformation in the entire state.
